I landed my last derm secretary role by applying the hour it went up and putting “ModMed/Epic, prior auths, biopsy coding” at the top of my resume — got a call the same day. Remote is thin, but a few private clinics will offer a hybrid day after 60–90 days if you ask during the screen; think sunscreen: apply early and reapply.

Piggybacking on @sophia_km91, I keep a resume variant that leads with ‘Mohs logs, biologic prior auths, Epic inbox triage’ and I call the office within an hour since these are posted in ‘real-time.’ Twice now that quick call got me a same-day screen with the practice manager. Remote’s sparse, but I’ve had luck negotiating one hybrid day after the first month.

Agree with @sophia_km91 on speed — I email the clinic manager right after applying with a two-line note that says “phototherapy/patch test scheduling, PDT flow, average rooming time 6–7 min” and offer a 15‑min slot the same day. If there’s no name listed, I ask the front desk for the practice manager’s email instead of leaving a voicemail, since a lot of offices screen calls hard.
