ED secretary posts can vanish in hours — , I’ve missed a couple by hesitating. I keep a one-page ‘ED-ready’ cover letter plus a scanned DBS/typing cert so I can ‘apply promptly’ and name-check EPIC/Cerner without rewrites, and instant alerts on NHS Jobs https://www.jobs.nhs.uk help. Remote’s thin like you said, but I’ve twice negotiated 1–2 hybrid days after probation; if a listing is older than 48 hours, I ring the department admin to check it’s still live and sometimes that gets me an interview.

I keep one PDF bundle (CV + DBS + typing cert + two referees) named “ElaineRoberts_ED_MedSec.pdf” so I can submit on NHS Jobs in under 2 minutes — @anderson_jules82 is right on speed; caveat: a few trusts still force separate uploads.

Real-time posts really do expire fast — I set phone alerts for “posted in the last hour” and applied on mobile, which snagged me an ED interview the same day. Small tip: put a one-line note about shift flexibility and Symphony/EPIC familiarity right at the top so schedulers call you first. If remote’s tight, widening the radius to 30–40 miles got me a hybrid offer — appreciate the push to act fast, @Guide.
